COFFEE TIME

By Jane Alt
February
1, 2012
Another week of winter is behind us as we all tread carefully to
avoid icy conditions. It's been a mixture of weather with very little snow
however, we welcome the warm conditions in spite of the melt down creating more
ice. Tonight we have an ice snow event forecast again. Compared to the last
three winters we feel we have it made. We're getting closer to spring & many
feel we may have the worst of the winter weather behind us & any snow coming our
way won't last long. By the end of February the Lenten season begins & it looks
like spring may arrive early this year. The thought of spring warms our hearts.
The New Leipzig Economic Development Corporation met last Thursday & directors
Doris Iszler & Mark Stelter were re-elected to the board. An open floor
discussion was held of the possibility of oil development coming to New Leipzig.
Our thanks goes out to the dedicated board members watching over New Leipzig.
The Siegel family, of the MRISAR Institute located in the New Leipzig School shared they have
returned from the 2012 Techno Expo in Las Vegas. They had been commissioned to
design a robotic assist device & were there to monitor the project. They said
they felt privileged to be with some of the top engineers of the world & were
grateful to return home after a successful trip.

Our best wishes are extended to Shirley Javour who is also scheduled for surgery
at the Mayo Hospital in Rochester, MN on February 8th. We look foreword to your

On Valentine's Day the New Leipzig American Legion Auxiliary plans to have a
patriotic Valentine program on February 14th at 9:30AM at Dakota Hills & at
10:45AM at the Elgin nursing home. We need each member to bring 1 dozen soft
cookies to serve. Thank you & plan to join us.
Keep thinking spring.
