We are having a variety of weather, and Sunday was a gift of
days, perfectly warm with no wind. Our Place Café had long lines of people
coming to enjoy a day of celebration for mother.
It is nice to see the seeding already done, and the greening up of the
countryside – but we are all in agreement – we do need rain.
The highway construction is moving along and how nice it will be when the
construction is all done.
Monday was cleanup day here in New Leipzig.
The fire siren rang last night about 9:30 and the fire trucks headed south and
found a controlled burn well in hand.
Our congratulations to Matt and Nicole Haase on the birth of little Piper
Elizabeth. Waiting to welcome home the new baby is Kassidy, eight; Savannah,
five, and Brody, two-and-a-half.
And our congratulations also to Robin and Mike Rivinius on the birth of Sawyer
Kota. Big brothers waiting at home for him are Chance, nine; and Kane, five.
Congratulations to grandparents Don and Juanita Achtenberg on the birth of
Mariah Kay Achtenberg. Proud parents are Megan Blacksmith and Matt Achtenberg of
Wahpeton.
And, more congratulations to grandparents Blaine and Joleen Roth, on the birth
of grandson Dawson Blaine. Proud parents are Dustin and Courtney Sadowsky of
Dickinson.
Friends gathered on Tuesday morning at the local café to toast the birthday of
Lorraine Schafer.
On May 14, Ed Gruebele, former barber and farmer, celebrated his 80th birthday.
Enjoy our busy month of May.
